New satellite imagery reportedly shows signs of damage at an Aramco oil-products storage and distribution facility in Abha, southwestern Saudi Arabia, following attacks reported on September 8.
The imagery appears to show burn marks around sections of the facility’s storage-tank area, while smoke was reportedly observed rising from within the site after the incident.
The reported damage follows attacks attributed to Yemeni armed forces against targets in southern Saudi Arabia. Saudi authorities subsequently acknowledged that fires had broken out at a number of oil-related and service facilities in the region.
According to Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Energy, operations at some affected facilities were temporarily halted as emergency response and technical teams worked to control the fires, inspect the affected locations and evaluate the extent of the damage.
The latest satellite imagery could provide additional visual evidence of the impact of the attacks, although the full scale of the damage and any potential disruption to fuel supplies remain subject to further assessment.
The incidents come amid continued tensions between Yemen and Saudi Arabia, with energy infrastructure remaining a strategically sensitive target in the wider regional conflict.
